To provide an opportunity to defaulting companies to file their belated documents, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has introduced the Company Law Settlement Scheme 2010. Briefing newspersons in Chennai this evening, Regional Director, Office of the Registrar of Companies, Mr. B K Bansal said that companies can file their documents by paying an additional fee of 25 percent of the actual additional fee payable. The scheme has been introduced after a gap of ten years and will be in force till the 31st of August. The Ministry has also launched the Easy Exit Scheme 2010 to enable defunct companies to get their names struck off from the Register of companies. No fee is payable for filling the defunct form and the procedure in the office of the Registrar has also been simplified.
