Ministers, MPs from Andhra meet PM to discuss Telangana issue

Several ministers and MPs from Andhra Pradesh today met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Telangana issue. It is believed that they opposed any division of the state.

Union Ministers M M Pallam Raju, K S Rao, Chiranjeevi and D Purandeshwari and MPs Bapiraju and Anantarami Reddy met Dr. Singh in a delegation and favoured maintaining a united Andhra Pradesh.

Yesterday, there was discussion at the Congress core group meeting on this issue.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, party General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh, Digvijay Singh said the consultation process is over and now the party and UPA government have to take the final call.
