Ministerial level meeting of The 15th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation, BIMSTEC, will be held in Kathmandu today. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived Nepal on a two-day visit to participate in the meeting.<br/><br/>Yesterday, Mrs. Swaraj called on Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest. This was the first meeting between the two leaders since Deuba took over as Nepal Prime Minister in a power-sharing deal in June. Mrs. Swaraj said that she is looking forward to welcoming Deuba in India. Deuba is set to embark on a five-day official visit to India from the 23rd of this month.<br/><br/>Yesterday evening, the BIMSTEC Secretary-level talks were held to discuss agenda for the today's ministerial meeting. The meeting will deliberate on 14 different themes like trade, investment, transport and communication, energy, tourism, agriculture, counter-terrorism, poverty alleviation, public health, environment and natural disasters and climate change.<br/><br/>BIMSTEC is an international organisation involving a group of countries in South Asia and South East Asia. The member countries of BIMSTEC are India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal.
