Minister for Development of North East region Paban Singh Ghatowar has launched a pilot project 'Youth to the edge' at a function in New Delhi on Monday. Under the project, adventure activities in remote areas of North East region will be organised.
In these activities, around two thousand youth will participate from across the country. The Minister said it will help in creating awareness about adventure and skill development. He said that under the programme three trekking trials have been planned for the volunteers from National Service Scheme, NSS and Nehru Yuva Kendra, NYK.
Mr. Ghatowar said that it will help in capacity building of the youth from north east and other parts of the country as they will be trained through the National Mountaineering Institutes and other adventure training organisations. He said it will also help in developing self confidence in the youth as well as exploring the unexposed paradise of the country.
