Mining scam: CBI court remands Reddy to ten days' custody

Former Karnataka Tourism Minister and an accused in the mining scam Gali Janardhan Reddy was remanded to CBI custory till 12th of this month. The CBI Special Court Judge B M Angadi pronounced the order in Bangalore today. The senior counsel for the accused Ravi B Naik argued that Janardhan Reddy is not arrested in the case filed by CBI in Karnataka and hence body warrant against him does not hold legally. But CBI advocate Soundararajan sought his custody as investigations are still pending.

CBI had filed an FIR against Reddy and 21 others last October in connection with illegal mining activities allegedly through Associated Mining Company and Deccan Mining Syndicate.
