The CBI special court in Bangalore has dismissed the bail petition filed by former minister and mine owner Janardhan Reddy.
The CBI special court Judge B M Angadi ruled that the bail cannot be granted as the accused faces some serious charges of illegal mining.
The CBI also issued chargesheet against Reddy and six others regarding charges of illegal mining against Associated Mining Company.
The case was thereafter posted to June 5th for further hearing.
The Karnataka CBI is investigating the charges that Janardhan Reddy and others used the Associated Mining Company and the Deccan Mining Syndicate as conduits for illegally mined ore that was earlier being transported in the name of the Obalapuram Mining Company owned by Reddy.
