Minimum wages for workers increased by about 50% in last 8 years, says Dharmendra Pradhan

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that during the last 8 years of the Modi government, the minimum wages for the workers have been increased by about 50 per cent. While inaugurating a 100- bedded hospital of ESIC- Employees State Insurance Corporation in Angul in Odisha today, the Minister said that the union government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to extending social security cover to all the workers through health care and insurance facilities. He said, when the workers are cared for, it leads to increased productivity which in turn strengthens the economy and improves the ease of life for the poor.<br />''<br />''While calling upon the stakeholders to ensure that the entire labour force of the country is registered in the E-Shram portal so that they can benefit from different government schemes, the Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mr. Pradhan said it is also equally important to impart skill training to the workers to optimise their contribution to the economy. <br />''<br />''Welcoming the setting up of the hospital at Angul and the opening up of a sub-regional office at Jharsuguda by the Employees State Insurance Corporation, Mr. Pradhan said that these steps will greatly help the workers of the industry- in intensive regions like Angul, Dhenkanal and Jharsuguda districts of Odisha with a high degree of labour concentration. Earlier, addressing the gathering at the inauguration of the ESIC hospital built at a cost of 65 crore rupees, the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Rameswar Teli disclosed that over 27 crore workers including about 1.3 crore from Odisha have already registered themselves in the E-Shram portal. <br />''<br />'' Stating that the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has touched new milestones of development, the Minister Mr. Teli said that sanction has already been given to set up three more ESIC hospitals at the capital Bhubneswar, port city of Paradip and Duburi in Jajpur district of Odisha.</span><br />
