In Uttar Pradesh with minimum 4.2 degree celsius temperature Churk in Mirzapur district was coldest place in last 24 hours. Weather has been mainly dry in all parts of the state. While the clearing of sky and appearance of sun with fade light in the afternoon provided some relief from cold conditions in some parts of the state but most areas faced intense chill with blowing of cold wave during the morning and night hours. The conditions has also exposed the tall claims of state government and Municipal Corporations as number of prominent places including bus and Railway stations, markets and major crossings could not witness arrangement of bonfires to fight against cold.<br/><br/>The weather scientists have said that the fresh snowfall in Himalayan region and clearing of sky has caused extremely cold conditions, thereby dipping the mercury. They said that cold conditions are beneficial for Rabi crop.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the bone-chilling cold wave and dense fog conditions have claimed nearly 34 more lives during last 24 hours .
