Kaleidoscopic images of the country's rich cultural diversity and its military might were on full display on the magnificent Rajpath in New Delhi in the full Dress Rehearsal today ahead of the 61st Republic Day on Tuesday. Unprecedented security arrangements were made for the event. <br/><br/>Armed forces in battle regalia proudly marched followed by the scintillating show of air power. The Army showcased its impressive armoury including frontline T-90S battle tanks, indigenous Brahmos missile, OSA-AK system and the most modern and versatile air defence weapon. The fascinating tableaux depicting the diverse culture and hundreds of colourfully-dressed dancing school children were part of the show. <br/><br/>The 21 tableaux, representing 13 states and 8 union ministries and departments are part of this year's parade. This time the centre of attraction is the Tableaux of Maharashtra which show cases the 5,000 Dabaa Walla serving lunch to more than two lakh people daily. <br/><br/>Traffic was diverted from Rajpath area during the rehearsal. Our correspondent reports that thousands of people had turned up to watch the rehearsal despite fog and chilly conditions in the morning.
