Iran said, military intervention in Bahrain is a serious threat to regional and global security. In a letter to the chairman of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Member States, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said, Iran regards the military invasion on Bahrain which occurred after the visit of the U.S. defence secretary as a serious threat to regional and global peace and security. Larijani urged international organizations, in particular the UN Security Council, to take action to put an immediate end to foreign military intervention in Bahrain. In another letter to the the chairman of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Larijani also condemned inhumane crimes in Libya, Bahrain and Yemen and called for an emergency meeting of the Assembly on the situation in those countries. Bahrain has slammed Iran's interference in its internal affairs after Iran communicated with international organizations expressing concern about the situation in the Kingdom.
