Reports from Myanmar say the military government has rejected an appeal by the pro-democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, against her conviction in August following an unauthorized visit to her home by an American supporter. <br/> <br/>Ms Suu Kyi had been sentenced to a further 18 months of house arrest for sheltering the American for two days in May. She has already been in detention for about 14 of the past 20 years after the military overturned the victory of her Opposition party in elections in 1990. <br/>
