In Assam, seven militants belonging to the banned Garo National Liberation Army, including a woman, have been arrested by the police in Ninth Mile area, near Guwahati city yesterday. The Meghalaya-based militants were travelling in a pick-up van on their way to Shillong. Following intelligence inputs, a team of the Assam police intercepted them at the Ninth Mile area and arrested the ultras. A point 22 pistol and the van have been seized from the arrested militants. The police are interrogating the ultras.
