Mild earthquake in Assam

An earthquake of moderate intensity shook Assam and its neighbouring areas at 3.28 on Thursday afternoon. The intensity of the quake has been measured at five point five in the Richter scale. According to official sources, the epicenter of the quake is about 180 kilometers east of the Bhutanese capital Thimphu. <br/><br/>There is no immediate report of any damage due to the quake. Scared people came out of their houses when the jerk was felt. AIR Guwahati correspondent reports that this was the eleventh moderate quake being felt in the North- East during last three months.
