Milad-un-Nabi being observed across the country today

Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad is being celebrated with fervour in various places of the country today. 'Milad Mehfils' and 'Seerat Conferences' are being organised, emphasising the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. Processions are also being organised to observe the occasion.<br/><br/>President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari have greeted the people on the occasion. <br/><br/>The President hoped that the Holy Prophet's message inspires everyone to work towards universal brotherhood, compassion, and tolerance. In his message, Mr Mukherjee said everyone should recall the life and ideals of the Prophet and re-dedicate themselves to the service of humanity.<br/><br/>Conveying greetings and best wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion, Vice President Hamid Ansari said the Holy Prophet showed humanity the righteous path of compassion and universal brotherhood. He hoped that the Prophet's eternal message continue to guide in building a peaceful and harmonious society.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also extended his greetings on the occasion of the Milad-un-Nabi. In a tweet, Mr Modi hoped that the occasion will deepen the spirit of harmony and unity in the society and always there will be peace and prosperity.
