Migratory birds begin arriving in Odisha

With the onset of winter, the migratory birds from different parts of the globe have already started arriving in Chilka- their winter abode in Odisha.

According to sources, fifteen to twenty thousand migratory birds have already been sighted in and around the picturesque lagoon.

Their number is expected to go up in the coming weeks- giving a boost to eco-tourism in the state. The state forest department has already initiated measures to protect the visiting birds from poachers.
