From today, the software, Microsoft is to send a message to millions of its users across Europe inviting them to consider using rival software to brows the internet. The move is a part of a settlement of along running dispute with the European Union in which the software giant was accused of abusing its market position. Windows users will be offered the choice as part of a deal Microsoft struck with the European Commission. A pop-up window will prompt people to choose and install one of 12 different browsers or let them stick with Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
