With an aim to connect semi-skilled workers with employers, global technology giant Microsoft has announced its new platform called Sangam. <br/><br/>Addressing the 'Future Decoded' conference in Mumbai today, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said it is important to expand the purview of digital technology from large businesses and start-ups to semi-skilled workers. <br/><br/>He added that 'Sangam' platform; based on world's largest professional networking site LinkedIn will also help people to skill themselves for the jobs which are getting created. <br/><br/>Mr. Nadella said that the platform is currently under the "private preview" stage and is yet to be made public.<br/><br/>Mr. Nadella today also launched the 'lite' version of Microsoft's video interaction platform Skype and LinkedIn; which will work even at 2G speeds. He informed that Skype's lite version, which is available in nine Indian languages, also has an in-built Aadhaar identity tool. He also announced a new service on LinkedIn called 'Placements', which will help Indian college graduates land job opportunities as per their skill sets.<br/><br/>Enthused by the improvement made in Maharashtra's first digital village of Harisal in the malnutrition-prone Melghat region, Microsoft CEO announced that the company plans to scale up the digital village concept to 100 villages.
