The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Ministry has sought Rs. 5,500 from the Finance Ministry for promoting the sector. It has been hit-hard by the global financial crisis.<br/><br/>Secretary, MSME, Dinesh Rai told reporters in New Delhi today that the Ministry had submitted the report of the task force report to Prime Minister last week.<br/><br/>According to an official press release among other things, it recommended extension of the stimulus package specific to MSMEs for one more year, besides calling for procurement policy and creating a separate fund for the industry.<br/><br/>The Minister of State (independent charge) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Dinsha Mr. Patel expressed the hope that the recommendations will be implemented within the next six months.
