MHA strongly denies allegation of phone tapping of judges

Home Ministry has strongly denied media reports alleging tapping of telephones of some judges. The ministry, in a statement, said there is no truth in these reports which are baseless and unfounded. <br/><br/>Speaking at golden jubilee celebrations of Delhi High Court, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said the phones of judges are being tapped. Mr Kejriwal claimed he overheard judges telling each other that they should not talk on mobile phones because they could be tapped. <br/><br/>Mr Kejriwal's allegation was rebutted at the same event by Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who said that the government's commitment to the independence of the judiciary is fundamental and uncompromising.
