Delhi police commissioner B S Bassi today said no clean chit has been given to Kanhaiya Kumar, the JNU students union president. Today Mr Bassi briefed the Prime minister's office about the JNU incident. AIR correspondent quoting official sources reports, Mr Bassi said there are adequate material against Kanhaiya Kumar. <br/><br/>In a related development, the Home ministry has asked the Bengal government for a report after students in Jadavpur university in Kolkata raised slogans in support of terrorist Afzal Guru. <br/><br/>Despite criticism from the opposition, the government has defended the arrest of Mr Kumar. Minister of state for Home, Kiren Rijiju speaking to a television channel said direct evidence will soon be disclosed against the student who was controversially arrested from his hostel.
