Home Minister P. Chidambaram today said his ministry and the Delhi Police will provide inputs to the appropriate inquiring authorities looking into allegations of corruption relating to the Common Wealth Games if they are asked to do so.Chidambaram was replying to questions from the media on the side lines of a function in New Delhi today.Earlier, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh appointed a high-level committee, which will look into all matters relating to organising and conduct of the CWG. The committee, to be headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General V K Shunglu, will also look into the lessons to be drawn from it.According to a PMO spokesperson, the committee will submit its report to the Prime Minister within three months. The development comes a day after the Games concluded in New Delhi with the Opposition stepping up its demand for a thorough probe into the allegations of corruption in the CWG related projects. Meanwhile, the Comptroller and Auditor Generalalso resumed its assessment of various Commonwealth Games related projects and sent its inspection officials to the CPWD office to check the accounts related to the Games projects. The audit work for CWG is on work payments, contracts and leasing of sports equipment among others. The CAG audit will also look into how the balance between the cost and quality has been maintained and whether there has been any cost overrun.
