Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa will hold delegation level talks with her Indian Counter part S M Krishna tomorrow. The two sides are expected to discuss the ministerial meeting in climate change in November that seeks to clarify rules on sharing future innovations on curbing global warming and existing technologies involving contentious intellectual property rights (IPR) issues. Cancun in Mexico, will host the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP 16) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). She reached New Delhi on a three day visit last evening. A spokesman of ministry of external affairs told reporters that the visiting dignitary will call on Prime Minister and meet with Minister of State for Environment & Forests. She will also interact with the representatives of trade and industry at FICCI and CII. Ms. Espinosa is also visiting in her capacity as the Chairperson of consensus of the parties ,COP, meeting on Climate Change being held in Cancun in November this year. She is accompanied by Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Ms. Lourdes Aranda, Special Representative for Climate Change Mr. Luis Alfonso de Alba and other officials..Ms. Espinosa is meeting Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh and other officials involved in climate change negotiations this evening. She will hold talks with External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna tomorrow. Issues relating to climate change, intensification of economic ties and the UN reforms. Our correspondent reports that the bilateral trade in 2009 was 2.2 billion us dollars.Total Indian investments in Mexico are in the range of 1.5 billion us dollars mostly in IT, Pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and packaging sectors. The two countries regularly maintain high level contact to give further impetus to the bilateral relations .
