Metro to Bahadurgarh , Faridabad : Committee to consider proposal

Union Minister for Urban Development Jaipal Reddy today announced to constitute a three-member committee headed by the Union Urban Development Secretary to look into the proposal of the Haryana Government to extend metro rail from Delhi to Bahadurgarh and Delhi to Faridabad. The other members of the committee will be Chief Secretaries of Haryana and Delhi. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has raised the issue with centre in the 31st meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) in New Delhi.<br/><br/>Mr Reddy also directed the Delhi Development Authority to take immediate action on the proposal for a zonal plan in the area of Delhi moved by the Haryana Chief Minister. Haryana government had also made a proposal to construct new roads for which a provision of a zonal plan in the area of Delhi was necessary.<br/><br/>Mr Hooda said the Haryana government had decided to link Gurgaon with the Indira Gandhi International Airport through High Speed Metro Rail and the matter had already been taken up with DMRCL.
