With the North East monsoon yet to begin in Tamilnadu, the Regional Met Department has predicted heavy rains in southern districts of the State. Rains are likely to continue till the 18th of this month in the western districts of Tamilnadu and Kerala. Fishermen have been asked to stay away from fishing activity during these days. Kanyakumari witnessed a maximum of 10 cm in the past two days. Chennai has been cloudy with intermittent light showers giving the city a cool climate.
