German Chancellor Angela Merkel's party has suffered a humiliating defeat in a key regional election in the State of Baden-Wuertternberg. Her Christian Democratic Party has lost power in the State which it held for six decades. The Greens appear to have won enough support to take control of the State in coalition with Social Democrats.
