Ahead of her meeting with the Russian President, German Chancellor Merkel arrived on a brief visit to UAE on Monday after meeting the leaders of Saudi Arabia. UAE's official news agency said that Ms Merkel in her meeting with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayad Al Nahayan discussed issues related to the latest developments in the region, especially with regards to Syria, Libya and Yemen and the efforts of the two countries to fight against extremism and terrorist groups and their coordination in support of the foundations of the stability and the security of the region.<br/><br/>Both leaders also reviewed the overall bilateral relations between the two countries including the strong economic ties and ways and means of enhancing them. UAE is Germany's largest Arab trading partner and finding areas of further investment will be a priority with the Gulf country. <br/><br/>The Crown Prince in his meeting with the German Chancellor also indicated that UAE is keen to develop, strengthen and push forward in all fields the interest of both the countries especially in the field of technology, aerospace , renewable energy and tourism.<br/><br/>The German Chancellor is scheduled to meet the Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
