The mercury in the capital on Wednesday dipped sharply to register the lowest temperature of the season. The minimum temperature was recorded at 6.4 degrees, two degrees below normal, as against on Wednesday's 7.4 degrees. According to MET office the fall in temperature is due to fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The maximum temperature also registered a decline from yesterday’s 22.2 degrees to 21.1 degrees, one degree below normal. According to India Meteorological Department, the maximum and minimum humidity levels were pegged at 88 and 37 per cent, respectively. The lowest visibility till 0830 hrs was recorded at 1000 meters. The chill is likely to intensify in the next 24 hours with the maximum and minimum temperatures falling to 21 and six degrees respectively. The Met department has forecast haze and mist in Wednesday morning and mainly a clear sky later for Delhi tomorrow.<br/>
