In the 12th South Asian Games, in Men's Hockey, the Gold medal match between India and Pakistan is currently underway in Guwahati. After the Indian Women's Hockey team clinched the Gold Medal at the South Asian Games yesterday, it will now be the Indian Men's Hockey team's turn to emulate a similar feat today. India have not been very good in the group stages. While the Indian got past Bangladesh with 4-1 in their opening match, they lost 1-2 to Pakistan in the following group game. However, drag-flicker Gaganpreet Singh continued his exploits in the tournament to inspire India to a 3-0 win against Sri Lanka in the final group game, to make it to the final.Indian Shooters continued their splendid form today as well. They bagged 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. The Gold came in both Individual and Team events of Men's 25 metre Standard Pistol and Men's 10 metre Air Rifle events. In the Individual section, Chain Singh won the Gold, his fourth of the Games, with the other Gold medalist being Neeraj Kumar for whom it was his first international medal. Gagan Narang settled for a Bronze. In Marathon, India took 2 Gold and a Bronze today as the Athletics events ended.When the trio of Khoushleem Baig, Rukhsana Perveen and Sofia Javed step into the boxing ring at 12th South Asian Games, they will create history by becoming the first ever women boxers to represent Pakistan in an international event. As Khoushleem (51kg), Rukhsana (60kg) and Sofia (75kg) sweated it out at the NEHU indoor training hall on the outskirts of the city today, it was a proud moment for Pakistan chief coach Ali Bux. In the medals tally, India currently has 146 Gold, 79 Silver and 23 Bronze. Sri Lanka is second, while Pakistan is third.
