The Indian National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon met with Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul on Wednesday. A press release issued by the Afghan President’s office in Kabul on Wednesday says the Afghan National Security adviser Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta was also present at the meeting. The discussions were focused on issues of mutual importance including the situation in the region and expanded cooperation between India and Afghanistan. Describing the India-Afghanistan bilateral relations as historic, both sides urged on stronger economic and cultural ties between the two countries. Mr. Shiv Shankar Menon once again reaffirmed India’s continued assistance to Afghanistan.
