They declared their second innings at 318 for 9, posting a target of 384 runs.Chasing the target for victory India were off to a bad start as they lost 3 wickets in quick succession. The innings was stabled again by Virart Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane. Their 85 runs stand for fourth wicket provided resistance to the Australian attack. Virat smashed 54 and Ajinkya was plucked short of a half century at 48.The final score board read, India 174 for 6 when stumps were drawn on the final day.Earlier, India had made 465 runs in their first innings in reply to Australia's 530.
