Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar will address the 3-Day sixth conference of Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians in Islamabad tomorrow. Mrs. Kumar is the lead speaker on meaningful Participatory Democracy in South Asia in the conference to be inaugurated by the Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari. The Deputy chairman of Rajya Sabha P J Kurien is also part of the delegation.
Besides meeting her counterparts from SAARC member countries, Mrs Kumar will also call on President, Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan on the sidelines of the conference. The delegation will also visit Kataas Raj Temple Complex during their stay in Pakistan.
AIR correspondents reports the conference will also delebrate on targeting Food Security for the region and streamlining Parliamentarians role in accomplishing the Minimum Development Goals.
