Mrs. Meira Kumar, today inaugurated a Seminar for Asian Parliaments on preventing and responding to violence against women and girls in New Delhi. The three day seminar will deliberate on various issues relating to violence against women and girls, including legislations on it. Eminent parliamentarians and panelists from UN offices, human rights advocacy groups, judiciary and government establishments will make presentations at the Seminar. An Indian parliamentary delegation, consisting of 10 members, is also attending the Seminar. Around 150 participants, including parliamentarians and observers, are attending the Seminar.
