Pakistani army today said that the Taliban Chief Hakeemullah Mehsud's death was not confirmed. The private TV Express has reported Pakistan's Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) as saying that they have no confirmation of Masud's death. This comes after the state-run TV reported that he was killed in a drone air strike. According to state-run PTV, Hakeemullah Mehsud, chief of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was injured in a U.S. drone attack in Shaktoi area in the South Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border on January 14 and succumbed to his injuries three days later. The TV also reported that he had been buried in a graveyard in Mamondzai area of Orakzai tribal region. Hakeemullah Mehsud has led Pakistani Taliban since its top leader Baitullah Mehsud was killed in a drone strike last August.
