Mehalaya: Border Co-ordination meeting between India and Bangladesh concludes

Four-day Border Co-ordination meeting between the Inspector Generals, Border Security Force and Deputy Director General, Border Guard Bangladesh was concluded in Shillong on Thursday. The BGB delegation was led by Brig Gen Abu Sayeed Khan from Bangladesh and BSF delegation was led by S K Mishra, IG BSF. During the conference, it was emphasized that BSF and BGB face common trans-border issues like movements of Insurgents, terrorists, Drugs, Fake currency, Arms smuggling and Poverty, which need greater amount of cooperation and understanding to make the life of Border population safe and secure. Therefore, it was advocated that both the forces should pool out resources together and combined efforts to put and end to all these menaces with a firm hand. IG BSF stressed for early implementation of Coordinated Border Management Plan to bring paradigm change in border management for both border guarding forces and make the life of border population peaceful and secure.
