<span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma told the Assembly on the first day of the re-assembled Budget Session that the State Government will provide one-time financial grant of Rs. 5,000 to the active Community Quarantine Centres through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.<br />'' <br />'' Replying to the Zero Hour notice brought by Nongpoh Congress MLA Mayralborn Syiem, the Chief Minister said that the government will be facilitating all these active Community Quarantine Centres.<br />'' <br />'' On the observation of the MLA that home quarantine is not safe, he said that the government is flexible in encouraging setting up of such community centres even though the best possible option to move forward is to go for home quarantine which is also prescribed norms.<br />'' <br />'' However, the Chief Minister made it clear that it is next to impossible to keep the 8,000 plus citizens who are stranded under institutional quarantine.<br />'' <br />'' Informing that a total number of 7,050 citizens who is stranded in various parts of the country have already returned to the state, he said that the State Government will try to bring back all those stranded within two weeks time.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Sangma also said that the government is also looking for requisitioning special flights for those who are stranded adding that many of them are ready to bear the travel fares on their own.<br />''<br />''He informed that the government has now decided that to do both the Rapid Diagnostic Test and RTPCR test on all the returnees saying that this is best possible option to segregate those who could be COVID-19 positive.</span>
