Meghalya bypoll: 75% electorate exercise their franchise

In Meghalaya, more than 75 per cent electorate exercised their franchise to decide the fate of four candidates for by-election to the Nongstoin Assembly Constituency in West Khasi Hills District. <br/><br/>The voting began at 7:00 am and ended peacefully today amidst deployment of additional para-military forces. <br/>The counting of votes will take place on November 24. <br/><br/>The seat fell vacant due to the demise of sitting MLA, Hoping Stone Lyngdoh, a veteran political and founder of Hill State People's Democratic Party on September 26, this year. <br/><br/><br/>
