<span style="color: #222222;">In Meghalaya, 59 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected today taking the total number of active cases to 547.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Director of Health Services, Dr Aman War said that from the new cases detected today six were BSF personnel and 48 civilians from East Khasi Hills, four from East Jaintia Hills district and one from West Jaintia Hills district.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that efforts are on to contain the spread and hence, many areas covering a large portion of Shillong city are declared as containment zones. He added that people, who have tested positive for COVID-19, have been moved to either hospitals or quarantine centres and declaring the areas as containment zones will help in quick contact tracing besides stopping high risk contacts from mingling with other people.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Dr. War said that East Khasi Hills district is the worst-affected district of the state with 466 active cases which include 286 BSF personnel, 159 civilians and 29 Armed forces personnel. In all, 94 patients have recovered so far.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
