In Meghalaya, New Year is being celebrated amid religious fraternity and unity across the state on Thursday night. Churches in Shillong are offering special midnight masses on the eve of New Year. Private parties and cultural programmes are the main attraction in the city. <br/><br/>AIR Shillong correspondent has reported that a midnight swimming is being organised in the state capital Shillong to invite the New Year 2010. Concert of western bands are also being staged across the Shillong city to celebrate the year-end 2009. The young, every year marks the New Year with midnight bath. <br/><br/>This year also, it is being organised in a grand way. People also take part in mid night masses organised by church in the city on Thursday night to mark the New Year. <br/><br/>
