In Meghalaya, five powerful rocket propellant grenades, believed to have been passed by ULFA to a militant group in the state, were seized today by security forces during a raid in East Garo Hills district. Acting on revelations from five arrested cadres of the Garo National Liberation Army, a combing operation was launched by security forces at Soinang in the Mendipathar police station area late last night. Police said, a hide-out of a slain GNLA leader, Joking Momin, was busted and the five RPGs were seized from there. On Friday, the Meghalaya Police had gunned down four GNLA militants, including Joking, and apprehended five others in the militancy-affected district.
