Meghalaya reported 532 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours including 366 recoveries. The Directorate of Health Services informed that four COVID 19 related deaths were also registered, tallying the total fatalities to 890. Till date, Meghalaya has recorded a total of 53244 confirmed COVID 19 cases including 890 deaths, 4391 active cases and 47,963 recoveries.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Meanwhile, Director of Health Services Dr Aman War has said that efficient contact tracing and discovery of new positive cases is responsible for Meghalaya's COVID cases remaining at a plateau. He added testing a lot more people will increase the number of negative reports and the positivity will come down, but cautioned that such an approach would not present an accurate picture.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''On vaccine hesitancy, the Director said it is up to the people to decide whether they want to listen to medical professionals or those with no medical training. There are chances for a patient's condition to worsen rapidly if not vaccinated, rendering treatment meaningless. He added there is no way forward other than getting vaccinated.<br />
