Meghalaya reported 16 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours including nine from East Khasi Hills district, five from West Jaintia Hills district and one each from West Garo Hills and North Garo Hills district. A statement of the State Health Department said that so far the total number of fatalities due to COVID complications have reached 694.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The state also recorded 448 fresh cases taking the number of active cases to 4,849. Meghalaya reported 507 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the total recovered cases to 34,440. Till date, Meghalaya has a total of 39,983 confirmed COVID-19 out of which 34,440 are recovered, 4,849 are active and 694 deaths.</span><br />
