<span style="color: #222222;">In Meghalaya, one more Real-Time-PCR machine has been installed to accelerate the testing capacity of COVID-19. It is expected that the testing capacity of COVID-19 samples will go up-to 415 tests a day. North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, NEIGRIHMS has installed the machine.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">NEIGRIHMS Director Dr DM Thappa said, it had one RT-PCR machine and with that they were able to do 99 tests a day and after that they got two CV net machines which could do 40 tests and the capacity increased to 136. With that, the capacity will increase to 450.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">About the present testing facilities in the state, the Director said that the Pasteur Institute is also developing the RT-PCR facility and has Truenat – a screening tool and through this if any test comes positive they have to send it to NEIGRIHMS for confirmation. He further said that Tura hospital have Truenat and they are also developing a RT-PCR facility, and all of them combined together will increase the testing capacity of the State to a greater extent.</span><br />'' &nbsp;<br />
