Meghalaya is finally on the map for plasma therapy to treat COVID-19 patients after the plasma bank of North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) became operational and six BSF personnel donated their plasma today.<br />'' <br />''The COVID-19 convalescent plasma collection was organized by Department of Blood Bank, NEIGRIHMS, in collaboration with the BSF Frontier Headquarters.<br />'' <br />''Director of NEIGRIHMS, P. Bhattacharya said that plasma therapy is a meeting place of technology and the human spirit. He said that the best of technology does not work without donors, and thousands of donors do not work without technology.<br />'' <br />''Stating that Plasma therapy is being touted as the final answer to COVID-19, the Director said that the answer lies somewhere in between as strength of anti-bodies is going to fight with the virus and neutralize it.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General, BSF and Medical Superintendent of BSF Composite Hospital, A.C. Bharadwajan said that it is a good start and 10 BSF Jawans will donate plasma in the first phase. He assured that the BSF has over 700 recovered and they stand ready to serve the community.<br />
