Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker convenes review meeting on COVID-19

<span style="color: #222222;">As COVID 19 cases continue to surge in Meghalaya, Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Metbah Lyngdoh on Wednesday convened a review meeting along with the Chief Minister, the Leader of Opposition (Congress) and several Members of the Legislative Assembly. After the meeting, the Speaker said that the Members of the House discussed at length and the Government has given a detailed representation of the COVID 19 scenario in the State.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He added that they also discussed setting up oxygen plants at different locations, increasing the number of beds and identifying corona care centres.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Speaker stated that the discussion was fruitful and have exchanged views and opinions and all the Members participated.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He also appealed to the citizens to remain calm and have confidence in the Government and urged everyone to get vaccinated at the earliest.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that the Government has taken note of the suggestions and will work on them. He informed that the shortage of vaccine which is seen in all parts of the country is also the same scenario in the State.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Dr Mukul Sangma condoled the families who lost their loved ones due to the virus. He urged the Government to take cognizance of all the grievances and concerns of the people.</span><br />''  <br />
