<span style="color: #222222;">In Meghalaya, State Health Minister A L Hek has expressed concern that COVID-19 patients are being stigmatized and reiterated the government's stand that there should be no discrimination against patients. After visiting Nongmensong a locality in Shillong today, the Health Minister said that various kinds of rumours were being spread on social media about the people of Nongmensong and about the virus, in general, creating a sense of panic among citizens of the state.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that a dedicated team had been formed to crack down on those circulating unfounded rumours. Meghalaya Government has entrusted a dedicated team to trace out the rumour-mongers and put them behind bars. Director of Health Services Dr Aman Warr further clarified that there are no concerns about community spread with regard to the patient from Ri-Bhoi district. He explained that only if there are multiple cases from the same locality where the source of infection is unknown, can it be termed community transmission. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The patient from Ri-Bhoi presents is an isolated case with all other samples taken from the locality testing negative, thereby overruling chances of community transmission said, the senior health official. Meanwhile, five individuals have recovered after testing negative twice. Meghalaya stands with a total of 25 active cases and 18 patients have recovered so far.</span><br />''
