<span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya Government has decided to vaccinate its citizens falling between the age of 18 to 44 years free of cost.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The decision comes at a time when the State is seeing a huge spike in new COVID 19 cases daily in the past few days.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">After a review meeting held at Shillong today, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that the State Government has placed an order of 42,000 units of vaccine and all payments have been made.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He stated that once the vaccine arrives, aggressive vaccination for the population will begin.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Citing the availability of essential commodities in the State, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the State has enough stock and the Government of India has sanctioned additional allotment of rice under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for the month of May and June.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the State recorded 339 new COVID 19 cases today.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The total number of active cases has gone up to 2019 while 204 recoveries were registered bringing the number of recovered cases to 15,810.</span><br />''  <br />
