<span style="color: #222222;">In Meghalaya, the State Government has decided to retract the earlier decision to open up places of worship from 14th of June following a consultative meeting with all religious heads based in the state.<br />'' <br />'' Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma chaired the meeting which was attended by Cabinet Ministers and government officials along with the religious leaders at Shillong.<br />'' <br />'' The meeting unanimously decided to hold back the earlier decision citing health concerns.<br />'' <br />'' After the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed media that after considering all suggestions and views from all stakeholders, the decision to postpone opening of places of worship until further orders were taken.<br />'' <br />'' He said that several religious leaders from different faiths submitted the proposal to defer the opening of religious places until the situation of COVID-19 pandemic is under control.<br />'' <br />''At present, Meghalaya has a total of 39 COVID-19 cases including 25 active cases. In all, 13 patients recovered and one deceased so far.</span>
