<span style="color: #222222;">Following a sudden surge in COVID 19 cases in Meghalaya, the State Government has declared a two-day lockdown on 13th and 14th of July in East Khasi Hills district. The state witnessed one of the highest surges of 47 cases in a single day taking the total active cases of 236. Out of the cases reported today, 30 are BSF personnel and 17 civilians out of which eight are the contacts of wedding attendees at the Greenwood Resort, Guwahati last month. Out of the total 236 active case as of today, 159 account from the BSF, two from the Indian Air Force, 24 civilians from East Khasi Hills district, 20 from Ri Bhoi district, two from East Jaintia Hills district and nine from West Garo Hills district.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Announcing the two-day lockdown, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the next two working days shall be observed in Shillong City agglomeration region as 'Lockdown the virus through Behavior Change'. This time shall be productively used by the Community COVID Management Committees and the newly set up Behaviour Change Management Committees of various localities to inculcate awareness about the cardinal principles of Behaviour Change at the household level, he added.</span><br />''
