Meghalaya gears up for COVID-19 vaccination starting tomorrow

<span style="color: #222222;">Meghalaya Health Minister A.L. Hek today said that the State is well-prepared for the COVID-19 vaccination starting tomorrow. The Health Minister said that in the First Phase 16,000 health-workers will be vaccinated and it will be voluntary. He informed that Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will flag off the vaccination process which will be held across ten centres.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">To a query on concerns of the public on safety issues, the Health Minister said that the public should trust the work of the medical experts.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Dr Aman War from the Directorate of Health Services said that the vaccination drive for the First Phase will continue till all health workers in the State are covered. He informed that the top priority will be the ward boys, nurses, ANMs and doctors. He further informed that there are 1,426 government vaccinators who will be involved in the vaccination drive and 87 vaccinators from the private institutions who would be responsible to vaccinate the health workers in the private institutions or hospitals.</span><br />''
