Meghalaya Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong inaugurates much awaited facilitation centre in Umling, Ri-Bhoi district

In Meghalaya, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong today inaugurated the much awaited facilitation centre (entry-exit point) in Umling, Ri-Bhoi district. The facilitation centre or infiltration checkpoint has been the demand for many NGOs and political parties. It will act as a mechanism to check the influx of illegal immigrants.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Deputy Chief Minister after inaugurating the centre informed that such centres will come up in other entry points across the State. Similar infrastructures at Rattacherra in Jaintia Hills and Bajengdoba in Garo Hills are coming up in the next few months, he said. He also assured that the State Government would ensure that the facilitation centres adhere to the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act.</span><br />
